Wardell Piper
Wardell Piper is a Legend of Dance and a First Lady of Disco. Entering the music scene in Philadelphia in the 1970's, she became an integral part of The Sound of Philadelphia. She sang with MFSB and was a member of First Choice which had hits on PhillyGroove Records.
In the late 70's she found major success with her debut Solo album that included the hits - Captain Boogie and Super Sweet.
Her second album found success in the overseas market, where she has recently seen a resurgence following the release of the "Legends Of Dance" compilation CD she was featured on.
She was also featured in the book The First Ladies of Disco, chronicling 32 of the leading Women in disco.
Wardell Piper has a new recording contract with Society Hill Records. She is currently working on a brand new project with legendary producer Butch Ingram including the song "Keep Living" which has been declared the Gay Rights Anthem and is preparing to tour the world.
